Apr 10 - Lost Lake

We stayed at Arestua last night. Amazing as always and we were able to rescue the small broom off the roof using a large broom! Porch is melted out enough that we could refill the sawdust bin from the bag under the porch. 

Not much to report that differs from what James noted in his trip report. On the way in, we cut straight up and ascended the talus field to connect to Pipeline Trail and avoid using snowshoes. I opted to avoid the talus on the way out, so I used snowshoes to descend in the snow from Pipeline to the switchbacks above Lost Lake. Snowshoes were helpful but not completely necessary if you are ok with a little postholing and/or talus hopping. 

We didn’t use micro spikes at all on the section from the TH to Lost Lake as the snow was soft or avoidable. We think it’s melting fast:
